Ragtrader live is an annual retail industry conference which sees an impressive line-up of keynote speakers from within the fashion industry take to the stage to offer their highly sought-after insights and knowledge to guests.

This year’s sell-out event was held Thursday, 3 May at Eternity Theatre in Darlinghurst, Sydney and focused on the theme ‘5 Leaders. 5 Solutions’, with presentations from fashion industry leaders including Kookai Managing Director, Rob Cromb; Camilla CEO, Jane McNally; Specsavers Australia Co-founder, Charles Horner; and Bassike CEO, Billy Voss.

Cotton On Group’s General Manager of Supré, Elle Roseby was invited to speak on the topic of ‘How to position your brand for success’ where she addressed the phenomenal turnaround of the brand since it was acquired by the Group in 2013.

Today, Supré has a loyal and ever growing customer following, known as it’s Girl Gang, with 104 stores and a significant E-commerce presence across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Africa.

During her Q&A, Elle spoke to the changes she and the Supré team have executed as they worked to redefine the brand: from its bricks and mortar format, to digital growth, extended ranging and supplier network, and international expansion.

The standout driving force behind the brand’s transformation, and the lifeblood of the brand, is this Foundation and the shared sense of purpose it has created, resonating with team members and customers alike across the globe. Elle explained:

Our vision is to ensure all girls have the opportunity to achieve their dreams. The Supré Girl Gang philosophy is a movement, a mentality and a mission.

The Supré Foundation was created with this vision in mind and operates with one purpose; to fund programs that educate, support and empower girls.

As a result, 100 percent of proceeds raised through the sale of Supré Foundation products go towards global initiatives.

The A$2.4 million raised to date with the help of the brand’s customers has funded successful partnerships with Headspace here in Australia, Dignity Dream in South Africa, and the Graeme Dingle Foundation in New Zealand.

These initiatives have helped countless young girls to build self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience, and life skills through education; and provided them with basic needs such as sanitary items that nobody should be forced to go without.

Elle closed by touching on some big future plans for the brand aimed at ensuring it remains a profitable and sustainable business; including the introduction of new categories, namely denim, sleepwear and accessories; and a continued dedication to empowering all girls through the work of the Supré Foundation.
