An open letter from our CEO

Hi,
As a team of 20,000, we’re made up of countless voices and experiences, and together, we represent thousands of backgrounds. Yet, there is a common thread that runs through us all, binding us together and keeping us focused on something greater. It’s our purpose, and it’s to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
But with varying backgrounds also come varying views, and ahead of January 26th, it’s important that we channel that common purpose to find a more unified way forward. To gain a greater understanding of what this day represents, knowing that it’s not an easy day for many – most importantly, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
We also know that for many of you, it’s a day to come together. But, as we continue on our path to reconciliation, I’d encourage each of you to take some time to reflect. To listen. And to learn.
Think about what the day means to you – be curious and find a deeper understanding. Learn about the origins of Australia Day and what came before it. Listen to stories of First Nations Peoples, and hear each other out. Join in on the conversation, and do this together.
Most importantly, be brave. Be respectful. And above all, treat each other with kindness and dignity.
As a team of thousands, we can come together to build a future that is brighter for all of us. One that accepts each of us for exactly who we are and a future that brings us closer together, for Good.
