Keeping parents in the Loop
10th October, 2018
The Cotton On Group is committed to empowering our team members to feel confident, well informed, and supported to do their best at home and at work. The Group’s latest initiative ‘The Loop’ is providing team members with a ‘stay in touch’ portal to support those on the parenthood journey, returning to work and beyond.
The bespoke program delivered by Australian start-up Circle In compliments the company’s existing team engagement and retention initiatives, which has helped the Cotton On Group be recognised as a winner for Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2018.
Available to all team members based in Australia, The Loop program includes a Parent’s Handbook which details the A to Z of what to expect when expecting, while on Parental Leave and during the return to work process; and the Online Portal, which provides parents easy access to all of the relevant policies, procedures and forms.
Additionally, the program includes masterclasses and a network that keeps parents connected with each other and the business.
The Cotton On Group’s General Manager, People & Performance, Raith Hutchinson, said:
At the Cotton On Group, our purpose is to make a positive difference in people’s lives and that starts with our team members.
The Loop will enable us to support our team starting their parenthood journey and keep connected to them during their parental leave.
We are incredibly proud to be an early adopter of a program that provides a support network for our working parents. With around 200 team members on parental leave at any given time, we know that The Loop will be incredibly valuable to the wellbeing of our team.
Over the past year our People and Performance team have implemented a number of important initiatives to support parents, including a School Holiday Program with KidsCo through which the Group has funded 1,800 school holiday places for kids, making holiday time more manageable and affordable for our team members; and the return-to-work program, Returnity, whereby new mums can ease back into work after having a baby by progressing from three to four to five days per week over two months, the whole time receiving fulltime pay.
The Group is committed to implementing initiatives as we strive to empower team members to master their own personal work/ life mix and be the best they can, both at work and in their personal lives.
